Biodeus was founded in January 2000 to develop and commercialize a new method for protein purification. The biotechnology industry is based on the purification of genetically engineered proteins for various applications. According to recent industry reports the biotech industry will face a critical shortage of manufacturing capacity due to e.g. the increase in biopharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals. The technology of Biodeus is expected to offer high purification capacity, process scalability, end-product flexibility and minimal human intervention. The company has received funding from private investors, business angels and the National Technology Agency (TEKES).

RoadSnoop Ltd

In the beginning of 2001, Nokian Tyres established a subsidiary for commercialising and internationalising the intelligent tyre technology concept it has created. The company is called RoadSnoop Ltd. and it will be responsible for the product development, production and marketing of the intelligent tyre technology. The intelligent tyre system, the RoadSnoop Safety System, enables drivers to receive real-time information on tyre pressures and temperatures on a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone without having to install any additional equipment in the car.
