In the beginning of 2001, Nokian Tyres established a subsidiary for commercialising and internationalising the intelligent tyre technology concept it has created. The company is called RoadSnoop Ltd. and it will be responsible for the product development, production and marketing of the intelligent tyre technology. The intelligent tyre system, the RoadSnoop Safety System, enables drivers to receive real-time information on tyre pressures and temperatures on a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone without having to install any additional equipment in the car.
