Welcome to EBRC!

Emergent Business Reseach Community EBRC is a scholarly association "to support multidisciplinary research, education and execution of free market based venturing that fosters sustainable development, especially growth venturing for problems worth solving".

EBRC is itself an emergent scholarly association, established to continue selected functions of e-Business Research Center eBRC, notably the activities of its V2C Research Team. In 2001, the team co-founded an annual business research conference (www.ebrf.fi) and an annual growth venturing event (www.v2c.info). In 2005, the team co-founded the pioneering knowledge investor community Finnish Co-Entrepreneurs SKY Assn and helped launch CONNECT Finland (www.connectfinland.com).

While the original eBRC had been a joint research center of two Tampere, Finland, based universities (TUT & UTA), established for limited life (2001-2005), the new EBRC is a community founded by individuals from across Finland, India and the USA, with unlimited life.

EBRC is chaired by eBRC's founding director (since 2001), Dr. Marko Seppä, JYU's Professor of Growth Venturing (invited for the 2007-2011 period). EBRC is presently hosted by the Growth Venturing Group at JYU and plays a strong role in "Strategy Logic in Growth Venturing" (a Tekes/Liito project) and "Global Venture Lab Finland" (a University Alliance Finland project), both initiated in the fall of 2008.

A renewal of the EBRC website is currently underway. At last, some could say. The launch of the new look, content, and functionalities is expected to take place at an EBRF Special Event - V2C Forum 2009 "combo" on 8 January 2009. The Special Event is not to be confused with the annual research conference. EBRF 2009 will take place on 23-25 September 2009.
