Pioneering eEurope, the eTampere program is – essentially – turning an idea into knowledge.
eTampere aims to enhance the humanly sustainable information society development by creating new knowledge, new business, and new public online services.
eBRC, one of the six subprograms, is aimed at turning e-business related research and development ideas into new knowledge.
eBRC seeks to do this by matching the interests of the right stakeholders – academic and industrial, domestic and international – into value-creating project partnerships.
eBRC is co-founded by two different universities: The Tampere University of Technology and the University of Tampere.
As such, eBRC is a “border-crossing partnership” – a joint venture born to create value to a multitude of partners, rather than a single parent.
This is reflected in eBRC’s organization, values, and way to operate.
The mission of eBRC is to generate relevant new knowledge on selected business phenomena related to the e-business. The new knowledge will be utilized in the education and research activity by the partner universities and in the business practise by the businesses participating in the underlying research projects. The objective of eBRC is to become one of Europe’s leading e-business researchers by 2006.
